Toronto Pearson is one of the largest airports in the world and the third largest point of entry into North America. With the recent completion of a $4.5 billion infrastructure redevelopment program, including a brand new Terminal 1, it is also among the most efficient and can provide visitors traveling to or through Toronto with a seamless and enjoyable experience.
In 2006, the Institute of Transport Management named Toronto Pearson the Best Global Airport.
74 airlines from all corners of the globe now operate out of Toronto Pearson Airport, which gives travelers access to more than 100 same-plane international destinations across all continents.
In 2008, Toronto Pearson handled over 32 million passengers. With our existing facilities, we have a capacity for 40 million passengers.

Toronto Pearson's new infrastructure and systems make traveling to connecting flights a breeze.
U.S. passengers transferring onto international flights via Air Canada and Star Alliance partners do not have to change terminals.
New satellite customs and immigration desks allow for the pre-clearance of passengers connecting from international to U.S.-bound flights. As a result, these passengers may clear directly through to U.S. customs without ever having to pass through Canadian immigration services.
Transferring passengers also benefit from special priority luggage carousels to reduce time and minimize hassles.
Our new state-of-the-art infrared baggage system is able to automatically sort and deliver baggage to waiting aircraft and offload much more efficiently, reducing time further.
Toronto Pearson is equipped with self-serve, "retina scanning" NEXUS kiosks, which are designed to expedite clearance for low-risk, pre-approved travelers into Canada and the United States.

Everyone hates delays, but with Toronto Pearson operating five runways, and accommodating an amazing 120 aircraft per hour (60 arrivals and departures), delays are kept at a minimum. Even in the harshest of winter conditions, Toronto Pearson is able to operate at 75% efficiency.
This means that aircraft spend less time on runways, translating into fewer delays for passengers and increased fuel savings.
When measured against other major connection centres, Toronto’s advantage is clear. By booking a connection through Toronto Pearson, your clients are more likely to arrive on time and have a better travel experience.

Toronto Pearson's Terminal 1 is one of the most technologically advanced passenger facilities in the world, which makes it among the most efficient.
Among the technological advances that have helped make connecting through Toronto Pearson more efficient and inviting are the following:
New baggage system
The baggage system is able to automatically sort and deliver baggage to waiting aircraft parked on the apron using lensed Automatic Tag Readers that record the barcode information from almost any angle that a bag might be resting on the belt. This makes the collection of baggage a lot more efficient and reliable.
Nexus
Travelers can now apply for retina-scan clearance of customs, which considerably speeds up the process, especially for frequent fliers.
WiFi
Wireless internet is now readily available throughout the airport for anyone who wants it.
This is especially valuable for your business travel clients.
